Life is definitely so different with a baby. I don't remember the last time Nate and I cuddled for more than five minutes, the last time I had a bath or sat in a hot tub, and the last time I could easily get up and go somewhere without planning when Wesson would have to eat next and if it would inconveniently be a time when I am at the mall and have to feed him in the dressing room. I know if we had someone watch him I could do those things but I'm not ready for that yet. It could be that not having our own home, he and Nate are the only real constants in my life right now. It has been a really hard past few months. We have had to adjust to a completely different lifestyle and area. I am a very independent person (I am not one of those girls that talks to her mom every day--it is actually about twice a month that I talk to my parents. I started doing my own laundry when I was about 15 and I moved out when I was 18. That doesn't mean I don't love them like crazy though.) and I miss being on our own but I am very grateful for the help we have received. Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is I realize that it seems a little crazy that I won't have a babysitter yet but I will do it when I am ready. Oh, and lets not forget the hormones that accompany breastfeeding...yikes! I've never been so attached to someone and so emotional. Poor Nate.
Onto more interesting things...
We are already noticing so much of a personality in our little guy:
1. He loves to stare at this movie poster that Nate's mom has up in the basement with Ashley Judd on it. He smiles SO big. And when I say big, it's like he can't contain it. He must have a little crush already :)
4. He is starting to talk a lot! I couldn't get the video to post here for some reason so here is the link to YouTube:

5. This doesn't really have to do with his personality, but it is something I am extremely happy about. He goes to bed around 10:30 every night, wakes up to eat around 5:30, then sleeps again from about 6 to 8:30. It's amazing how much better I feel now that I'm getting long stretches of sleep!
This made my day! I'm so glad you updated it :) I'm almost antsy to move to Cheyenne so we can come see you guys. Sounds like there's a chance you won't even be there though! I hope things turn out for you. And p.s. Wes looks so. stinking. cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah (or Zach...ha ha)! That would be so fun to be close again. I miss you guys! And Wes misses his aunty Sarah and uncle Zach. I'm jealous you get to live by the beach. Lucky!
ReplyDeleteYour little guy is just adorable! What a beautiful family you are! :-) I hope that things get easier for you soon!
